Alan is almost completely deaf due to a head injury. Sometimes it comes down to a decision between picking which bill to pay. In Alan’s case the electric bill ended up on the short end of the decision. He had to let the electric bill go to cover some of his other daily living expenses and medical bills.
The power company did a lot to help – they left the power on through the winter and they helped him spread his payments out over time. But, as with all things, the piper must be paid. Within days of his power being turned off, Dreams Accomplished helped him catch up on his bill. We didn’t do it alone, we had help from the Livingston County Catholic charities and they continue to work with Alan to get all his bills paid and get him back on the path to independence.
